Drishti Balaiah

Drishti is studying to obtain a BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) and is presently in 1st year of a 4 year program at Camosan College. Her goal is to become a nurse practitioner, which will require her to complete a Master’s degree after finishing her BSN.

Drishti has volunteered extensively in our community, including being a team leader in the Step Up Youth program at the Saanich Peninsula hospital and has also volunteered at the Mount Newton Day Care Center for senior residents. Through her volunteer work, she has become aware of the power of human connections and strengthened her belief in the importance of emotional care in nursing.

Drishti comes from a family of health care workers. Her parents both work at our hospital.

Erica Lapenat

Erica is in her first year of studying towards her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at North Island College in Courtney, BC.

Erika has a history of volunteering in the community, including over 300 hours of service at Saanich Peninsula Hospital and Public Health Unit. Her volunteer roles included the Emergency Department, Child Immunization Clinic therapy support and support for multiple special events within the Hospital.

Erika would also like to become a Nurse Practitioner, eventually working in underserved rural northern communities. She views this as an opportunity to preserve our system of health care and give back to communities with the same compassion and care that has been shown to her in the past.
